How to Avoid Weight Gain On Weekends

With the nation struggling with an obesity epidemic, eating patterns have been put under the microscope. Bad eating habits on the weekend when you have unlimited access to the fridge are very common. The S days are also the ones where many people who are on diets break them.

Staying up late, sleeping in, skipping exercise and eating excess amounts of food are the routine for many people on the weekend. To avoid gaining weight on the weekend, there are a few simple tips.

First, you should try to exercise before and after a day that you know you will be eating indulgent foods. It could just be a brisk walk or some laps in the pool, but it's important to stay active during the weekend.

Drink plenty of water. This way you will stay hydrated and feel less hungry throughout the day. This is especially true if you are consuming alcohol.

Since it may be difficult to avoid overindulging on the weekends, try to cut back caloric intake during the week. Try cutting 300 calories out of your daily intake during the week to compensate for overdoing it during the weekend.

Eat a lot of veggies. Vegetables with high water content such as celery fill you up faster and give you more energy so you won't feel as hungry. Try eating a vegetable soup before you go to the all you go out dining.

If you are going out for a night on the town, try to get on the dance floor if possible. You can have a great time and burn a lot of calories at the same time.

By following these tips, you can make sure your weekends don't become pound packing days, and keep a healthy body weight.
