Best Things for Your Skin
Our skin is so important to our overall appearance and there is a lot we can do to make sure it looks its best. The following is a list of things you can do to keep your skin looking young, healthy and radiant.
1. Follow up all skin treatments with a moisturizing lotion to lock in the active ingredients. Choose a lotion that contains glycerin or hyaluronic acid.
2. Eat plenty of tomatoes to minimize sunburns.
3. Try to reduce stress. Stress reduces immunity in the cells and increases acne.
4. Eat more lean protein and less high glycemic foods such as french fries and candy.
5. After a sweaty workout, rinse off in cool water with a body wash containing glycolic or salicylic acids. This will help prevent breakouts.
6. Use inexpensive face washes such as translucent glycerin soaps or a foaming cleanser.
7. Use a lip balm with UV protection.
8. Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, especially leafy greens, citrus fruits, blueberries and other containing vitamins A and C.
9. Use a topical retinoid anti-aging product. Start in your twenties if possible.
10. Drink soy milk instead of cow's milk to prevent acne.
11. For hair removal, use Eflornithine HCI combined with laser treatment.
12. Use OTC pain relievers for additional protection from the sun.
13. If you suffer from rosacea, use a sonic skin-care brush.
14. Try to buy natural products and look for the new Natural Seal that certifies ingredients are natural.
15. Use a separate specialty cream for the area around the eyes.
16. Use a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 and then follow it with a foundation containing sunscreen.
17. Use a moisturizing cream on your legs overnight and use a razor with moisture strips to keep your legs looking smooth.
18. Don't overdo it with skin care products, and try to use ones with fewer ingredients.
19. Change your sheets and pillow cases once a week.
20. Avoid too much sun exposure for a minimum of 12 hours after applying self tanner.
21. Use a broad spectrum sunscreen with zinc oxide and stabilizing ingredients.
22. Use an overnight skin treatment such as Vichy Normaderm Night.
23. Avoid Smoking.
24. Eat some dark chocolate on a regular basis.
25. Get a skin screening with a dermatologist.
