8/17/2009 4:17:39 PM Vitiligo are thought to be hereditary, but can occur in anybody. There's no effective cure has been found. However, it can be improved with treatment. It is possible to reverse the loss of skin color in a good number of patients. Surgical or cosmetic intervention is called for in vitiligo if there is no response to treatment over the years.
